Happy Friday friends! Today ends my month long community celebration! I have been so incredibly lucky to have so many amazing guest contributors this month and I cant thank everyone enough for contributing their expertise with our community! I am SO excited to introduce you to my wonderful friend Zulema. Today Zulema shares a post on bathroom organization in Spanish and English! Cuando comencé mi cuenta de Instagram Lauren fue una de las primeras cuentas que encontré y de inmediato me enamoré de su feed. Su organización y simplicidad han sido una inspiración constante para mí. Me siento tan honrada de tener la oportunidad de ser parte de su blog.
Hoy, comparto con ustedes un espacio en mi hogar que recientemente organizé como parte de mi jornada hacia el minimalismo.
El baño en nuestra casa se usa a diario y puede desorganizarse fácilmente ya que es muy pequeño. He querido deshacerme de algunas cosas de los cajones y contenedores que ya no usamos.Cualquier proceso de eliminación requiere tiempo y práctica. La parte más difícil es ser honesto contigo misma acerca del uso de los artículos y sacarlos de tu casa si has decidido que ya no los usas.
Cuando comencé este concepto de minimalismo en mi hogar era una tendencia mía de ahorrar artículos que ya no quería para "alguien más" sin saber realmente quién sería este "alguien más". Me sentía mal tirar los artículos a la basura aunque claramente sabía que no podrían ser donados, así que los guardaba en una caja o una bolsa en el sótano. Entonces, básicamente, lo que estaba haciendo no era decluttering estaba solo moviendo los artículos de un lado para otro que no es lo mismo.
Ha sido un proceso y créanme que no es fácil y no es automático para mí. Tengo que recordarme constantemente a mí misma que si no lo uso y no puedo donarlo hoy, debe ser botado a la basura. Es lo más extraño que encontramos un artículo en nuestra casa que no hemos visto o usado en meses y cuando es momento de deshacernos de él sentimos un pequeño dolor en el estómago. Pero con la práctica, el dolor disminuye y con eso viene un hogar más ordenado y limpio.
Comencé el proceso del baño desde la parte posterior del baño hasta el frente. La bañera no tenía mucho desorden, solo un par de artículos que fácilmente puse en su lugar designado, como un cepillo de dientes.
Después, comencé con el pequeño armario de arriba hacia abajo. Las principales cosas que hice en este espacio fueron cambiar el recipiente que era muy viejo y bastante sucio por uno que ya no usaba de la cocina. Luego doblé las toallas y las ordené en los estantes.
Bathroom Organization
When I began my Instagram account Lauren was one of the first accounts I found and I immediately fell in love with her feed. Her organization and simplicity have been a constant inspiration for me. I am so honored to have been given this opportunity to be part of her blog.
Today, I share with you a space in my home that I recently organized as part of my minimalism journey.
The bathroom in our home is used daily and can easily get out of hand since it’s so small. I wanted to get rid of some things from the drawers and containers we no longer use. Any decluttering process takes some time and practice. The hardest part is being honest with yourself about the use of the items and getting them out of your house if you’ve decided you no longer have use for them.
When I started this concept of minimalism in my home, it was my tendency to save items that I no longer wanted for "someone else" without really knowing who this "someone else" would be. I felt bad throwing the items in the trash although I clearly knew that they could not be donated, so I kept them in a box or a bag in the basement. So, basically, what I was doing was not decluttering I was just shifting the articles from one place to the other, which is not the same. It has been a process and believe me it is not easy and it is not automatic for me. I have to constantly remind myself that if I do not use it and I can not donate it today, it should be thrown away.
It’s the strangest thing that we find an article in our home that we have not seen or used in months and when it is time to get rid of it we feel a small pain in our gut. But with practice, the pain diminishes and with that comes a more orderly and clean home.

I began the process from the back of the bathroom to the front. The bathtub didn’t have much clutter just a couple of items that I easily could put back at their designated place, such as a toothbrush.
Then I began with the small closet and worked my way down. The main things I did in this space were change the container that was very old and quite dirty for one that I was no longer used in the kitchen. Then I neatly folded the towels and re-arranged them on the shelves.
Luego fui al estante inferior, una de las cestas que guardo aquí solo tiene papel higiénico. El otro tiene accesorios para el cabello que rara vez uso, como un secador de pelo, plancha de pelo, gorro de ducha, etc. Entonces, para esa canasta, saqué todo, limpie y reorganice los artículos, y moví algunos artículos debajo del fregadero que también usó con poca frecuencia y que podrían caber fácilmente en esta canasta.
I then went to the bottom shelf, one of the baskets I keep here only holds toilet paper. The other holds hair accessories that I rarely use, such as a hair dryer, hair straightener, shower cap, ect. So, for that basket, I took out everything, cleaned and rearranged the items, and moved some items from under the sink that I also rarely used and could fit easily in this basket.
Finalmente vinieron los cajones debajo del fregadero. Empecé de nuevo desde arriba hacia abajo, revisé cada cajón, limpie el cajón y arrojé lo que ya no usaba y reorganice los artículos cuidadosamente.Ahora tengo un baño limpio y organizado.
Lastly came the drawers under the sink. I started again from the top down, I checked each drawer, I cleaned the drawer and threw what I no longer used and reorganized the items carefully. Now I have a clean and organized bathroom.
